Each book in the Hands-on science series is divided into four sections, drawn from the national science strands:
•    Earth and beyond
•    Energy and change
•    Life and living
•    Natural and processed materials
Each section contains nine activities chosen from the most popular topics in the four science strands. Each activity is accompanied by a teachers page which includes information to assist the teacher with the activity.
